During the city tour a guide will take you to the most important sights in San Sebastian. There are many monuments to explore in the city, such as the Cathedral, a neo-Gothic structure of the 19th century. Its spire at 75m high can be seen from most of the city.
The old part you can visit the church Santa Maria Basilica, built above some Roman ruins, it has a Baroque facade with a sculpture of San Sebastian, the Christian martyr. ln the old part you can also visit the casino Gran Kursaal in the calle Mayor.
Donostia-San Sebastian has three beaches. La Concha, Ondarreta and Zurriola. La Concha is concerned as one of the most beatiful city beaches in Europe. The beach Ondarreta is situated at the foot of Mount Igueldo and has a more aritocratic feeling because the villas and the park that leads down to the beach. Zurriola is placed on the right side of the river, 5 minutes walk from San Sebastian centre. This beach are known for the great waves and the surfing. Here they organizes international surf and beachvolley contests like The Nixon Surf Challenge and the female world championship in beachvolley.
