Our school is also a founder member of the National Federation of Spanish Schools (www.fedelespain.com) of Spain, permanently in contact with the Cervantes Institute (www.cervantes.es) and with all the official organs of the Spanish government.
The Spanish Federation of Associations of Spanish Schools for Foreigners (FEDELE) was founded on the initiative of the regional associations of AEEA (Andalusia), Castile and León, and Madrid.
The Basque association, the Association of Catalonia and OLE, Español en Andalusia (Andalucía) were incorporated afterwards. Other regions, such as Valencia, Murcia, the Balearic Islands, and the Canary Islands, are working on setting up similar associations, which once consolidated, can also become full members of FEDELE.
Among the main objectives of FEDELE one is to represent the second language, Spanish teaching sector, in negotiations with the Spanish government. Another is to defend the commercial and professional interests of the member schools. FEDELE is permanently in contact with the Cervantes Institute, the ministries of Education and Culture, the Spanish Tourism Institute (TURESPAÑA), and the Institute for Foreign Trade (ICEX).
Also, the creation of a Spanish standard regulating the academic activity of centers, dedicated to the teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language, is one of the most urgent and necessary goals to be achieved.
