The 41st annual Heineken Jazzaldia Jazz Festival will be held in San Sebastian from the 21st to the 26th of July. Hosting some of the largest names in Jazz, this festival has been called the best in Spain if not all of Europe and is one of the oldest currently running music festival in Europe. Last year's festival saw the likes of Medeski Martin Wood, Van Morrison, Gilberto Gil, Joe Cocker, Roberta Flack, Brazilian Girls and BossaCucaNova.
This year's festival will continue the tradition of mixing the old with the new seeing the old school likes of the Neville Brothers, Dr. John, Keith Jarret, McCoy Tyner, Herbie Hancock, Bela Fleck and Richard Bona and the new school flavor of Erykah Badu and a host of up and coming bands. There will be 62 concerts during the 6 day event held at 8 different venues. Many of the concerts held on the beach and outside the Kursaal performing arts center will be free. This is a great way to enjoy the sunny summer weather while listening to live music on the beach!
