Olentzero is the Basque version of Saint Nicolas. According to tradition Olentzero, a coal miner from the mountains, comes to town late at night on the 24th of December to drop off presents for children that have been good and to leave coal for those who have been less than good.

This Christmas you can see him for yourself as he will be touring the streets of San Sebastian on December 24th to greet all the children before he brings them presents later that night.
