Last Saturday, March 10th, tight-rope walker Ramon Kelvinck helped inaugurate the reformed Victoria Eugenia Theatre in San Sebastian by walking 160 meters across the Urumea river at a height of 22 meters; with no safety net!
It took Mr. Kelvinck 10 minutes to walk across the steel cable that spanned from a temporary tower on Ramón María Lilí street all the way across the river to the main tower of the Victoria Eugenia Theater.
As soon as Mr. Kelvinck safely made it across, fireworks and a laser display accompanied the music of Carmen de Georges Bizet to celebrate the grand event.
