After more than a month of unseasonably warm weather, winter finally decided to visit the north of Spain. The ski resorts have been hoping and waiting for this moment as the last good snow they got was back in the beginning of December.
This morning a low pressure system that had been sitting out in the North Atlantic made its way south and brought heavy rain and snow to the north of Spain. We even got a flurry here on the beach in San Sebastian, which is very rare! The hills and mountains surrounding the city are now capped with a layer of the fluffy white stuff making the perfect backdrop to our winter wonderland.
No better way to take advantage of the winter season than to visit the mountain villages of the Pyrenees. Within 2 ½ hours from San Sebastian there are a number of ski stations in the Midi Pyrenees that offer a variety of terrain for all levels. Come learn Spanish while you take advantage of the winter season!
