The Certificado de Calidad en la Enseñanza de Español como Lengua Extranjera or CEELE is a Certificate of Quality in the Teaching of Spanish as a Second Language granted by the Spanish Department of the University of Alcalá de Henares.
The schools which request this qualification are submitted to an inspection that evaluates 11 different aspects of Teaching Spanish as a Second Language.
The inspection is done by the University of Alcalá and is repeated every 2 years to ensure consistent quality. They analyze all the aspects related to teaching, faculty, and installations and award the Certificate only to the centers which fulfill all the strict requirements and expectations. Students, teachers or professionals who select a qualified CEELE school for their Spanish Course in Spain have the guarantee that the selected school has passed an independent, objective and professional inspection.
What is CEELE?
CEELE is the Quality Certificate in the Teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language. It is awarded by the Languages Department of the University of Alcalá working with schools, academies and institutions which provide classes in Spanish as a foreign language.
Why CEELE?
There is no approved quality system in Spain as highly regarded as the CEELE. The CEELE assures fulfillment of internationally accepted quality criteria for teaching Spanish as a second language.
How does a school receive CEELE?
Schools or institutions requesting the certificate are inspected by specialists from the University of Alcalá. Eleven different factors are evaluated and the inspection is repeated every two years.
