This course will give you the skills needed to become a confident teacher of Spanish as a Foreign Language. The theory you learn in class will be put to use during the practical teaching sessions included in the course.
Description
Our Spanish Teacher Training course will help you discover and develop the skills needed to become a confident teacher of Spanish as a Foreign Language. It consists of 120 hours focusing on methodology, language analysis and teaching practice with volunteer students.
Having completed the course, you will receive the International House Teaching Certificate together with a personal report on your performance. Successful completion of the personal portfolio will allow you to receive recognition from the Universidad de Barcelona and the Universidad Pablo Olavide de Sevilla, which will then give you the option to pursue a Masters in teaching Spanish as a foreign language at either institution.
Class taught across 4 weeks, which includes:
- 65 hours of theory based on the study of methodologies, teaching techniques and class activities along with linguistic analysis.
- 55 hours of practice sessions. (Practice teaching with foreign students while being observed by the tutor, performance analysis & preparation of classes with guidance from the tutor)

- Introduction to new language structures
- Presentation techniques and activities
- Working with speaking, listening, writing and reading skills
- Effective use of audio-visual materials
- Evaluation and correction of errors
- Review of teaching materials
- Working with different class sizes
- Expectations of an E.L.E. (Spanish as a foreign language) teacher
