Learn about the customs and norms of life in San Sebastian. This will help you towards a smooth transition into our culture and way of life. Living in San Sebastian includes adapting to our customs and different timetables from your country.

General working hours are:

  • In winter: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.
  • In summer: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3 / 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Usual eating hours are:

  • Breakfast: 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
  • Lunch: 1.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m.
  • Dinner: 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The most popular mode of transport is the bus (for more information, click here) and taxi, though almost every part of the city can be reached on foot.

INTERNET:
  • AT SCHOOL: Free access Lacunza.
  • Free access at the Center Koldo Mitxelena: On reservation.
  • Free access at the Youth Centre Craj: It is located in Amara, near the Ice-Rink, besides the football stadium. You can also get information about the surroundings and about interesting trips. It closes at midday.
  • Internet cafes: different internet cafes in every area.
  • Locales: Net-line - C/Urdaneta, nº8-bajo (city center). Zarr@net - C/ San Lorenzo, nº6. Beside "La Bretxa" shopping centre (Old Part). Frudisk - C/Miracruz (Gros).

PHONE CARDS: At the school reception and internet shops you can buy phone cards called "Eurocity" to make international calls.

  • Buen Pastor Square: You can receive and send faxes.
  • At school: To fax abroad: 1,50 € for the first page and 0,60 € (every following page). National faxes: 0,60 € (the first page), 0,30 € (the following pages).

Only urgent telephone calls can be received at the school. PHONE NO.: 943326680 FAX NO.: 943326822 Public phones work with coins or phone cards, which you can buy at any tobacco shop or at school. For international calls please dial: 00 + prefix of the country + number. For a reverse call please dial 1009.

Post Office
  • The central: Paseo de Francia, nº1. Opening hours from 8.30 a.m. to 8.30 p.m., from Monday to Friday. Saturday open during the morning.
  • You can buy stamps and envelopes at the post office or at the tobacconists.
