Pasaia Maritime Festival

For the first time in the history of Pasaia, the Pasaia Maritime Festival. The appointment will be in the month of May, from the 17th to the 21st, and for 5 consecutive days, the waters of this Guipuzcoan municipality will be the meeting point for traditional boats from different parts of the continent.

An international maritime event

This event will be a great international maritime meeting that will offer visitors a cosmopolitan atmosphere full of cultural, gastronomic and musical activities.

These activities will be shared between the water zone, which will be the stage where the different traditional boats will sail, and another of land, which will cover the four districts of the town in spaces conceived as villages where numerous activities related to gastronomy, crafts and music will be held.

It is worth noting the visit of the Hermione, a replica of the frigate with which the Marquis de Lafayette contributed to American independence.

The first maritime festival in Pasaia

As we have said before, the festival will last three days, in which there will be different activities to do. Furthermore, it is the first time that this type of festival has been held. Pasaia is divided into 4 parts, that is, 4 districts spread around the bay of the same name.

Pass Saint John

It is the oldest of the four districts. It is, along with the Pasai San Pedro district, the most touristic district. Along the street we find numerous historical and cultural resources and diverse tourist infrastructure.

Passai San Pedro

It is the most fishing part of the municipality where the fish market is located, currently in the process of being reconstructed and where some deep-sea and inshore fishing boats can still be seen on its docks. Its historic center is similar to that of Donibane.

Pass Ancho

District emerged at the end of the 1890th century after the desiccation of a marsh. It was founded in XNUMX and grew together with the creation of various infrastructures such as the northern railway, the Madrid-Paris highway, the mole, or the commercial docks of the port

Also popularly known as the city of the dollar due to the boom in the fishing industry of the 60-70s when it began to develop as a district. Today it is the district with the most inhabitants and the commercial part of Pasaia.
